submitting orders for price-quotations

Hello,

 

I am somewhat new to the osCommerce scene, but thus far it seems that osCommerce is geared towards stores which sell "tangible" products at a fixed price. There are, however, many businesses that sell "services" or that have many ways that a product they sell can be configured, requiring them to quote a price on the submitted orders. Is there any way to permit a customer to submit orders for a quote, to later be informed when their quote is ready, and to be able to view their quoted order online after logging into their account. Then, the customer can choose online to either approve or reject the quote.

 

Is osCommerce just not geared towards such businesses, or are there modules available which I've overlooked which will permit price quoting as described?
