New UK Giftware Site

Recommended Posts

Hi folks

Just unleashed my 2nd oscommerce site:

1st For Gifts

The site has a trickle of visitors which is steadily growing and there is a high proportion of visitors who start to add goods to the cart but go no further. I don't think it is a technical problem as the order process is well tested.

What's wrong? I've got a mental block here.

Please can some of you good folk have a look? Any constructive feedback is welcome, no matter how harsh.

Thanks,

Brain.

You are selling too many goods.  I'd concentrate on one particular area and just sell that.  Open another Store for another range of goods and so on.

Your product range is too confusing.

Yeah, thanks Burt. I was thinking of adapting one of the "multi-store" contribs and using subdomains (one for wooden toys, another for fantasy ornaments, etc). Then maybe just use the base domain to advertise the other stores, provide company info, etc.

Re: Squashed Design

This is something I can't make up my mind about. I'm looking to maybe reduce the right column width to the same as the left and increase the font size a little. Not sure whether to center the shop or just allow the center column to fill any available space.
