Easy Populate Trouble, Can't Get It To Work

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm trying to use Easy Populate to enter my product catalog into my web site. I've managed to get the Easy Populate module into OsC, but I can't get the catalog to appear.

As far as I can tell I've uploaded the product database in the right place. I've also tried FTP to the Tab Delim (txt) file, plus trying to upload it in one piece with Easy Populate, or sending it in peices with Easy Populate. I've even tried putting it in the server /temp directory & then trying to load it from there. But nothing seems to work.

Sometimes it seems like it has worked, giving messages like "filename.txt" instead of some error message. But when I go to the site catalog it's still the same old test file that comes with the original installation.

After 14 hours of reading FAQs/instructions & generally earing my hair out I've finally got A; a drink problem, B; a headache & C; absolutely nowhere.

Can anyone please tell me where I'm going wrong?

Thanks.

Mike

i have already asked you to post your answer to my question about what you have done in your easypopulate.php file

it is against forum rules to double post. if you dont get the answer you want, you need to reword the question.

as far as the people who know easypopulate, they pretty wont be able to answer you unless you give more information what i had asked you to do.

here is the support thread again:

Hi,

I'm confused, I clicked on the link you provided (thanks for that) & then posted a message. Since this is where your link sent me isn't this supposed to be the right group?

Also, I know that the post is short of info, but I really can't come up with anything. I followed the instructions to the letter, but even when I get no error messages it doesn't work.

Hi,

Just to clarify my last post. The installation is plain vanilla OsC & the easypopulate.php file is as per the instructions, in that I followed the setup procedure given.

Still scratchin'.
