renaming catalog directory??

Hello everyone,

I've scoured the forum but cannot seem to find anything regarding my issue. I need to change the main directory 'catalog' to a new name. I've tried changing the includes/configure.php in both the catalog directory and the admin/includes/configure.php files but this doesn't work. I've looked through most of the files that I thought would apply but to no avail. Perhaps someone out there has done this already and could help me with this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

change the name of the catalog directory to whatever you want for this example store, then in catalog/includes/configure.php change the following parts

  define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');
 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH',  '/catalog/');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG',  '/catalog/');
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'htdocs/www/catalog/');

to now read

  define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/store/');
 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH',  '/store/');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/store/');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG',  '/store/');
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'htdocs/www/store/');

and for admin/includes/configure.php

  define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', 'htdocs/www/catalog'); // where the pages are located on the server
 define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/catalog/admin/'); // absolute path required
 define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', 'htdocs/www/catalog/admin/'); // absolute pate required
 define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/catalog/'); // absolute path required
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'htdocs/www/catalog/'); // absolute path required

to now read

  define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', 'htdocs/www/store'); // where the pages are located on the server
 define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/store/admin/'); // absolute path required
 define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', 'htdocs/www/store/admin/'); // absolute pate required
 define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/store/'); // absolute path required
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'htdocs/www/store/'); // absolute path required

And don't forget to rename the directory to match.

It has been known :D.

Thanks for your help guys.

I had tried this before and seemed to get errors. However I named it just one word this time instead of a two word name with a hyphen such as 'new-directory'. I'm not sure this would make a difference or not. Do you know if it matters if there is a hyphen in the new directory name?

thanks again.
