Need Suggestions

I would like to add more fields to my categories.php page, so listing is easier. I tried Products Extra Fields Contribution, and the info shows in admin, but not on site, and no one will answer my question on what the problem might be. Anyways is there another contribution that will work?

I sell clothing and need to put in fields for measurements like Chest, Waist, Hips......etc., so many fields are needed.

Thanks!

Crystal,

Why not just put it in the description?

As for the Extra Fields contrib, the best thing is to go back through it, step by step, and see if you missed something.

I would put it in the description, but having to type it each time gets to be redundant. If the boxes were there, I would just have to type numbers and be done. I have tried to set it up 3 times and get the same problem. Thanks Though

I have not used that contribution but if the info is not showing up on your product pages then you need to look at any changes you made or were supposed to make to the product_info.php file as that is the file that controls what shows up on your product pages. Hopefully that will help narrow the problem down. Another thing I would do is check the support thread for that contribution in the contribution support section of the forum. If there is a problem with the instructions you are probably not the first person to run across them.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

I have posted to that thread, as there are others, but I have tried everything they did to no avail, and there is another lady needing help too, but we are getting no help.

I looked at the product_info.php page and thought I found the error. I fixed it, but it is still not working.

Anyone here that might take a look and see if they see it?

Thanks

Here is part of product_info.php I had to work with

<?php
   if (tep_not_null($product_info['products_image'])) {
?>
         <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" align="right">
           <tr>
             <td align="center" class="smallText">
<script language="javascript"><!--
document.write('<?php echo '<a href="javascript:popupWindow(\\\'' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_POPUP_IMAGE, 'pID=' . $product_info['products_id']) . '\\\')">' . tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . $product_info['products_image'], addslashes($product_info['products_name']), SMALL_IMAGE_WIDTH, SMALL_IMAGE_HEIGHT, 'hspace="5" vspace="5"') . '<br>' . TEXT_CLICK_TO_ENLARGE . '</a>'; ?>');
//--></script>
<noscript>
<?php echo '<a href="' . tep_href_link(DIR_WS_IMAGES . $product_info['products_image']) . '" target="_blank">' . tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . $product_info['products_image'], $product_info['products_name'], SMALL_IMAGE_WIDTH, SMALL_IMAGE_HEIGHT, 'hspace="5" vspace="5"') . '<br>' . TEXT_CLICK_TO_ENLARGE . '</a>'; ?>
</noscript>
             </td>
           </tr>
         </table>
<?php
   }
 ?>

	 <?php
    // START: Extra Fields Contribution
$extra_fields_query = tep_db_query("
                     SELECT pef.products_extra_fields_name as name, ptf.products_extra_fields_value as value
                     FROM ". TABLE_PRODUCTS_EXTRA_FIELDS ." pef
            LEFT JOIN  ". TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_PRODUCTS_EXTRA_FIELDS ." ptf
           ON ptf.products_extra_fields_id=pef.products_extra_fields_id
           WHERE ptf.products_id=".$products_id."
           ORDER BY products_extra_fields_order");

while ($extra_fields = tep_db_fetch_array($extra_fields_query)) {
 if ($extra_fields['value'] != '') {
?>
       <b><?php echo $extra_fields['name']; ?>:</b>
       <?php echo $extra_fields['value']; ?><br />
<?
 }
}
// END: Extra Fields Contribution

?>

     <p><?php echo stripslashes($product_info['products_description']); ?></p>
<?php
   $products_attributes_query = tep_db_query("select count(*) as total from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_OPTIONS . " popt, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_ATTRIBUTES . " patrib where patrib.products_id='" . (int)$HTTP_GET_VARS['products_id'] . "' and patrib.options_id = popt.products_options_id and popt.language_id = '" . (int)$languages_id . "'");
   $products_attributes = tep_db_fetch_array($products_attributes_query);
   if ($products_attributes['total'] > 0) {
?>

Does this look right?

Thanks Crystal
