The e-commerce.

domain name changes

Recommended Posts

A customer access my site by typing www.(my website).com. The page gets re-directed to http://www.(my website).com/shop/catalog. When a customer clicks on a link inside my page, the www drops from the domain name and displays http://(my website)/shop/catalog. If the customer then clicks on another link and then goes back to the previos one, the www. appears in the domain name. Any help would be appreciated. This osCommerce is getting confusing.

And this is absolutely VITAL that it not redirect from www.mysite.com to mysite.com -

I'm going to keep digging - but would appreciate any help.

Ok - this fixed one of my problems - and may fix yours.

In configure.php I had this:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.mysite.com/'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
 define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.mysite.com/'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

//then further down...
 define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

So- whenever I moused over a link - what showed up in the status bar was

Because of the // in the URL - there was a redirect without the www. in front.

Just remove the trailing slash in HTTP_SERVER and HTTPS_SERVER or the opening slash in the DIR_WS paths.

Hope that fixes your problem.
