The e-commerce.

Here's a shipping DOOZY.

Recommended Posts

I'm going to invite y'all to abandon my shopping cart, so you can see the problem I'm having.

Go to my new site:

imusicians.com Independent Music Store

and sign up to buy one of the 4 albums we currently have for sale.

Click "Checkout", and click the option that you want to check out without creating an account.

When you enter your bogus shipping information, make it for a bogus address in Canada. And remember that Canadian postal codes are in the format X1X 1X1, where X is any letter, and 1 is any number. I know that N2K 3Y8 is a valid postal code in the town of Waterloo, Ontario. You might know others.

When you get to the page that lets you choose your shipping options, try and pick ANY of the USPS shipping methods listed, OTHER than Global Express Guaranteed Document Service. In every case, when you're presented with the final checkout page, you'll see that no matter which USPS method you chose, you got forced to take the Global Express Guaranteed Document Service.

You can select any UPS method you wish - but USPS is all messed up in this regard.

Can anyone help me figure out where to even START this process?

It difficult to say wht the problem is. 99 percent of all checkout issues are due to a contribution installed incorrectly. It sounds to me like htis is the case here as well.

NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.

If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.

Normally, I'd be at the front of the line agreeing - but until about 15 seconds ago, when I installed a USPS mod from the "Contributions" section, my shipping was completely vanilla - no modifications to the original code whatsoever.

I'll let you know how I make out with this one...

Glad you solved the problem.

USPS tweaked their International Rates Engine API a while back, which causes parsing problems with the stock USPS module. All this trouble for a couple of lousy case changes.... <_<
