quantity issue for fabric store

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm creating a site for a fabric store, and they sell products by the meters.

Basically I can't figure out how to allow the quantity to be 0.5 instead of 1.

when I put in 0.5 as the quantity, it says my cart is empty.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks :)

Same problem here...

I did accomplish that customers are able to buy parts of a meter by modifying the DB tables (2 of them) but if the quantity is less than one it says the cart is empty.

I have posted the same question in this thread but unfortunately no answer (yet)

Hope your site is not somewhere close :-"

*edit - I just read that thread I'll give that a try.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat you are in, which = big trouble :-"

I'm pretty baffled this cart desn't have an option for increments!

I'll keep looking around also...

Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!!

Alright, my mistake, the cart does do increments, although it can't handle anything below 1.0.

Does anyone know how to fix this so I can have 0.5, 0.25 etc???

So a customer could purchase 0.5 meters of fabric???

  • 5 months later...

I sell tiles by the pound. I have a full pound as the default product and offer half, and quater pounds using attribute/options. Give it a try to see if this is an acceptable solution, and if so, then look at the contribs regarding attributes and options, because I guarantee you will not want to leave it stock (sort order, price display, weight, and entry are all issues you'll want addressed).
