Mac OS X Server

Standard installation nowadays has register_globals = Off. On a Mac (I suppose Mac OSX Server too) you can find this file in /usr/local/php/lib/php.ini

The line register_globals = Off is somewhere 1/3 down the file under the heading Data Handling.

Change register_globals = Off to: register_globals = On

Restart Apache if you changed the php.ini and you should be fine.

This will be server wide then. A better approach is to just change it by way of a .htaccess file.

To just enable register_globals for the osCommerce directory you can put a .htaccess file in the catalog directory that you downloaded and decompressed. There should be htaccess or .htaccess file there. Change the commented out part:

<IfModule mod_php4.c>

php_value session.use_trans_sid 0

php_value register_globals 1

</IfModule>

to a non-commented out:

php_value session.use_trans_sid 0

php_value register_globals 1
