Seperating Canadian TAX on CHECKOUT?

Is there a way to seperate the tax in OsCommerce so it isn't totalled together?

I've tried the contribs for - canadian tax seperator but they no longer function with the latest OsCommerce version..

Sub-total :

GST (7%) :

PST (8%) :

Total:

is what I'm after.

If there's a painless way of doing it please let me know.

Thanks :thumbsup:

If you are talking about on your product pages did you have

Admin -> My Store -> Display Prices with Tax -> True

No I mean, when I pick something to buy,

I click on checkout.

i go through the steps, than in Order Confirmation.

It shows

Zone Rates (Shipping to CA : 3 lb(s)): $8.50CAD

Sub-Total: $130.00CAD

Total: $160.05CAD

it calculates the GST / PST but it doesn't show it.

It could be http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,546, bucause I can't open tar.tar files so I doubt it is 289.

This is what I show on my screen for a checkout with it;

Sub-Total: $21.39

Canada Post (2 box(es) to be shipped) (Expedited, 2004-10-26): $15.88

GST ( 7% ): $1.50

PST ( 8% ): $1.71

Tax (7.0% GST#99999 99999 RT000 + 8.0% PST (Ontario)%): $3.56

Total: $40.48

Ignore the bold line, it is my tax. The other parts are for trying to figure this out tonight. The readme of the one I just put in starts;

This is a real Canadian Seperate Tax Hack V1.4

Dec. 15, 2002

Install:

---------------

1. FIRST BACKUP ALL FILES !!! YOU MUST REPLACE SOME FILES TO USE THIS MODULE !!!

2. Download the package and unzip to a temp directory.

3. Go to your admin package -> Modules -> Order_total, disable old tax module and old total module.

4. Move files to their coresponding directories.

5. Go to your admin package -> Modules -> Order_total, activate the new tax module and new total module.

6. Edit at your convenance the values.

7. Test, test, test.

The code that the text comes from is;

tep_db_query("insert into " . TABLE_CONFIGURATION . " (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, set_function, date_added) values ('Display Tax', 'MODULE_ORDER_TOTAL_TAX_STATUS', 'true', 'Do you want to display the order tax value?', '6', '1','tep_cfg_select_option(array(\'true\', \'false\'), ', now())");

It shows up on my screen as;

Display Tax

Do you want to display the

order tax value?

0 true

0 false

0 <- radio button.

I have no idea why it would not work on yours.

I got it to work. had to stop the old scripts than readd them to take on the new properties.

but i ran into a problem where it's calculating things wrong.

Sub-Total: $30.00CAD

GST ( 7% ): $2.10CAD

PST ( 8% ): $2.40CAD

Zone Rates (Shipping to CA : 3 lb(s)): $8.50CAD

Total: $44.32CAD

weird cuz that should = 43cad

Sub-Total: $130.00CAD

GST ( 7% ): $9.10CAD

PST ( 8% ): $10.40CAD

Zone Rates (Shipping to CA : 3 lb(s)): $8.50CAD

Total: $179.55CAD

this should be 158$

You are adding your tax on your subtotal without the shipping costs. You have to move the shipping costs above the subtotal then it should display correctly.... but there is no PST on shipping within Canada (only GST) and no tax at all on shipping outside of Canada. Look at the "please note" section of the readme text.
