The infamous security warning and configure.php

So, can anyone tell me what is the problem with this piece of software that even after chmod'ing configure.php to 440, 640 and every other read only permission the home page still issues the warning that configure.php can be written to and poses a security risk.

I have the same problem. Tried all kinds 444, 440, etc.. and it still gives a warning. I would love to know the answer.

Some server configurations will not allow you to set permissions via an FTP client - it may appear that you have them set, but you must do this instead through the file manager in your hosting control panel - or you are running M$ :P
