How do I symlink httpsdocs to httpdocs on a RHE  Linux server (running plesk 7 if that matters)

I have shell.

read the manpage.

in apache conf you need to enable symlink also, if that wasn't neabled.

This is my procedure (as best I remember...it's been a while)

I believe you must be logged in as root if you're on a default Plesk server, as the httpdocs and httpsdocs folders are not owned by the user by default.

Navigate to your site directory:

cd /home/httpd/vhosts/yoursite.com/

Rename the httpsdocs folder:

mv httpsdocs httpsdocsold

Link the two together:

ln -s httpdocs httpsdocs

That last one...if it gives you an error you may need to reverse the order. I don't remember.

Test it out and see if it works. If not, you need to check out your Apache configurations. You need:

options AllowSymLinks on

or something like that. If you have the right access, you can possibly add that line to your vhost.conf (NOT httpd.include, Plesk overwrites that file anytime you make a change) or an .htaccess file.

If you're not on a dedicated server you'll probably have to ask your host to do most of this. It's been a while since I've had to mess with it so it may be a bit off..but this is pretty close.
