You have the option of storing sessions information in files within a 'tmp' folder, or storing them in your mysql database. To store them in your database take a look at both of your configure.php files

catalog/admin/includes/configure.php

catalog/includes/configure.php

On the last line you'll see this

define('STORE_SESSIONS', ''); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql'

change it to this

define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql'); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql'

Your sessions information will then be stored in the database, and the 'tmp' warning should disappear.

If you want to store sessions information in a tmp folder then create the folder below your root level e.g. if your root level is /var/www/html, then set it up in /var/www. This folder has to be writeable so set permissions to 777.
