Images BMP or JPG

On my site I was using JPG uimages in my catalog but I realized today that I get more room from BMP images instead.So I load some new items on using them in BMP form and noticed they dont show up, but the items larger image does if go into the items description and click on larger image ...Why is that?

You need to stick with jpgs or gifs (or pngs if you don't care about compatibility). BMP's load smaller that the others so while you may save on page size, your load time will probably increase. Plus, they are not supported by all browsers AFAIK.


Are you optimizing your images in image editor? Why do you think you need to reduce the size?
