remove the attribute for quantity, that appears to be messing it up.

for modifying your code, do it locally and test locally, never modify the live code, it will cause too much grief.

If you go in catalog/includes/application_top.php

find this part of the coding

// customer adds a product from the products page

there should be a line where it say

                               $cart->add_cart($HTTP_POST_VARS['products_id'], $cart->get_quantity(tep_get_uprid($HTTP_POST_VARS['products_id'], $HTTP_POST_VARS['id']))+1, $HTTP_POST_VARS['id']);

if it set to +1 like here

$HTTP_POST_VARS['id']))+1

change it to +$quantities

Mine was at +$quantities and it wasn't working I put it to +1 and it did work I don't have a contribution where people can select there quantities thas why.

That solve my probleme hope it will solve yours.

I dont want to remove any contribution.

I just ask my ISP and they told me that a new server has installed, but everything should be fine.

I think they misconfigured something.

I can paste here the OSC's serverinfo if somebody have a mind to check it.

I'm also going to link to other discussions on similar topics in hopes we can get all this info in one place.

I just wanted to update that I got help in another forum.

The problem was with sessions.

In admin/includes/configure.php and in (whateveryourcatalogroot)/includes/configure.php there is a line of code at the bottom that should read like this:

define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql'); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql'

I had a blank between the two quote marks after STORE_SESSIONS. That was the default that came with my particular setup. After I changed this to 'mysql', the problem was fixed and sessions were stored. The cart no longer dumps out during a session.

Make sure you check your STORE_SESSIONS defintions everybody! It took me days to find the answer to this, so I hope it's not too annoying if I post this everywhere so others don't have to go through what I did.

Hey man, thnx for the reply...i tried that and still same thing happens :\

I also had a blank between the ''! Put mysql in both shop/includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php and still nothing gets carried to the cart from WHAT'S NEW section or BUY NOW when looking at a main category!

Any other ideas? Maybe it's the SSL setting?? bahhhhhhhhhhh *shoots himself*

Have you tried changing using ssl to false, instead of true seeing if the same problem happens?

Nope, because i need it to work with SSL becuase i use 2cho and if i don't use SSL it says so during checkout which is not good for a customer u know? :\

damn ipowerweb! dAMN THEM!

Well i just used the catalog/install and installed it. I had those issues and i fixed them all by doing what i did...so it might work for others :)

So, if you do a clean installation, do you lose all of your products?  I imagine so, right?

No i'm talking about the first time i installed osc 2.2 ms2. I used the /catalog/install to isntall it. To fix the issues I played around with every setting possible and fixed all the issues without having to reinstall everything and lose it all ( i hate having to reconfig all the shop ) so i came up with THIS FIX that made everything work 100% :) Atleast it works for me...i'm sure it will work for others too. I took your advice about the sessions but also changed a var code in application_top that was faulty. And few other config settings I fixed...so its all good now!

I just checked the server info in admin and found the register_globals set to off.

What do you think, can this be the cause of my problem?
