having problems with site orders

I have my site set up for paypal only.


However i had a customer place an order online- I normally receive 2 emails 1- from paypal (receipt) and one from the site with the actual cart contents.


However- i received the payment receipt but no order from the webiste.


I wrote to the customer who says they did place it online via the store- but under existing orders there is showing as no such order for this customer.


Can anyone tell me why the actual contents of the cart didnt email to me?

If the customer paid via PayPal but did not hit the 'Continue' button at the end of the process on the PayPal site then the data wouldnot have been returned to you (no order info), and no e-mails would have been fired off. In your PayPal account you can select an 'auto-return' feature which should stop this happening. Also, if you install the PayPal IPN module I believe the auto-return is built into that.
