Can't save modification with SSL On

Hi all, I hope someone can enlight me on how to fix this problem. I have just recently installed SSL in my online shop and i have problem in updating any content or value in admin module.

What happened is that any value that I have modified or changed will be saved as blank. This issue has been reported by at least 1 other person in this forum and in the bug report as well but no solution has been reached.

I refuse to believe that there are potentially hundreds of oscommerce site that can't modify their catalog content when they're in https (SSL)

Help would be very much appreciated, thank you

not sure of where you are talking about for modifying. is this in the catalog or on the admin section?

and can you give a more detailed description, so we can visualize where you / what you are trying to do?

Sure, I'll give the step by step to reproduce this,

1.) Get into the admin section via https to enable SSL

2.) Click on configuration

3.) Within the Configuration section, look for Session, click on Session

4.) Click on Prevents spider session

5.) Choose True

6.) Click on update

7.) A message should appear with message somewhere along the line of telling users that although you are browsing from secure pages the result will be transfered into non-secire pages

8.) Click on OK

9.) You will see that the value is nor true or false.

If you try to create new product categoy, after you update to the db, you will nothing back.

I don't know whether this makes a difference or not but I have .htaccess file in the catalog directory, it's doing rewrite to change normal http into https
