This a great contribution, but I have a feature request. Could there be a limit to the number of backed-up files stored? For instance, if the store owner defines a maximum of 10 database backups stored at any given time, the system would check to see how many backup files are stored before it adds another backup file. If there are 10, it would drop the oldest backup and create and store the new one.

This would be great to have.

Can the "AutoBackup Database in Admin" contribution be edited to use GZIP compression?

Thanks a ton

Wow - I was hoping to find a mod to this great contrib that would provide both options - compression, and a limit to the total number of backup files saved, dropping oldest - but it looks like the author has abandoned this contrib. Too bad!

Anybody else like to pick this up and add the options? I don't think OSC has any other auto backup contrib out there and it seems like such a great feature - it should be part of the normal install - a real no-brainer!
