The e-commerce.

Importing users manually into database

Recommended Posts

I thought I saw this issue raised before but I can't seem to find it.

I have a bunch of email addresses in a file of people who joined our mailing list before we started the oscommerce site (about 500 names).

I plan on using LOAD_DATA or some other mysql command where I create a query that iterates through all of them and inserts the email addresss into my osC user files and some filler text for the other required fields that we can fill in later.

I want these new users to pretty much only be in there to receive the mass mailing we do thorugh the site for montly events.

So far, I see two tables that it looks like I need to populate....customers and customers_info. But I'm not sure about what to put in customers_info.

Can anyone help with this??

ok, it appears that the only two tables needing modification are customers and customers_info, and customers_info key just needs to match id of each customer.

Let me know if I am overlooking anything.
