Table-less layout?

Does anyone have opinions on this?

The whole index.php is laid out with tables, which isn't the best way to achieve your layout. To be cleaner, the positioning should happen with css.

How would one make a suggestion to the osc team about that?

OR, who would like to create a new index.php file with me that removes tables and only uses css?

I have a test site setup using css for some of the positioning but when it comes to laying out data, tables are still the way to go. Not to mention the compatibility issues css has with many browsers. But if you want to do it, just start creating divisons and replacing the tables.

You can download the latest BTS version. It has a couple layouts that are more CSS involved. If nothing else, you might find them an easier starting place.

Once the new template system is finished and MS3 is out, this should become easier to do. The problem that exists now is that there are so many files that would need to be modified.

Cheers,

Matt
