unsecure items message

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else get a message that requires users to answer whether they want to proceed with secure and non secure items on every page that is secured in the shopping cart? I was told it is doing that because of my flash at the top of the page.

Check it out and try to enter the shopping cart. Let me know what to do.

Use relative paths for your images -instead of:

use:

Just wondering since I am working on this site as well, how does using relative paths change the insecure error code?

Considering I am on a MAC, I have not been able to reproduce this error in any of my 3 available browsers, so it seems like a PC thing to me... Just wanted to learn how not using relative paths would cause problems. *grin*

Dunno about Macs (using a Mac doesn't make it secure, just the message is not being shown), but why it happens is simple - the images are being called unencrypted through a non secure path - http rather than https....."relative" means just that - relative to where you are at :D

Hey Johnson,

We have changed the items you suggested. Could you take a look at it again. My one computer at home was corrected by this suggestion. My other computer was not. I tried this with other computers and some still have the message. Could you please look at it again and any suggestions would be greatly appericated. I am worried that this problem with drive people from the site without buying.

Thank you very much.

View the source for the page - the Flash header is a start

Steve,

I think what he's saying is that we need to change the links in that flash header too.... Im not quite sure, but we can start there and go to the next step.

Help, this has not been fixed yet.  We did the suggestive coding and still have the problem.

The fix for the flash security problem is easy.

In the code generated to display the swf you need to remove the links that flash generates.

In the object tage it is codebase=

In the embed tag it is pluginspage=

Delete everything between the quotes and leave the quotes.
