Allowing Downloads

Recommended Posts

Hello -- on our site we are going to offer some free products (which are virtual & can be downloaded). Which contribution works best to allow the customer to instantly download the free product?

The goal is that they would skip the shopping cart completely, to make things easier.

I tried one & it didn't seem to work quite right. Thanks!

One more question: I have tried to set it up so that a visitor can simply press a button to start a download of the free product, but when I test it, I get a pop-up that asks for a user name & password (title says: "connect to www.mysite.com").

How to stop this?

My attributes are set to 755 for the download folder & 777 for the file.
