Orders going astray

Guest

Recommended Posts

Kind of stuck on this one and hate to say it, desperately need some help..

background.. old store, rebuilt it on new server, tested, worked fine in testing payments processed (payflow) invoices generated, order completed.

restored backup of old store to new server, orders are now coming in.. they ARE being processed through payflow ... but heres the crunch there is no record in the orders of any order rcvd...

confirmation letter is sent properly...

so right now the owner "knows" an order was placed, can go see the transaction at verisign.. but has no record of it in oscommerce..

as i said, it all worked smoothly in testing..

Im kinda SOL on this one as the store is now live .. and need to figure this out yesterday -- orders are being lost.. (so to me at least, this is kind of on the urgent side)

if ANYONE can give me at least a starting point to try and sort this out, i'd be really greatful... (couldn't find anything similar in the search archives -- but i dont have really great luck in there most times)

Please ???

look in your admin area under localazition and order status, is that blank?

Heres whats there (these are pre move orders)

Orders Status Action

Pending (default)

Processing

Delivered

Displaying 1 to 3 (of 3 orders status)

im not sure if theres supposed to be more info there or not..

these "old" orders show in the orders table.. its the new ones since the move that arent showing up...

thnx for taking a stab at it.. --

Stan,

Did you find a resolution to this? I have a client that is asking for help

in such an area (I did not set up OSCommerce for him.)

Hi Thomas,... I wish i could help you, but unfortunately I didnt get a solution per se. At the same time I had an issue that according to the knowledge base was most likely related to sessions, I set the sessions to true, then things really blew up (problems in the admin area displaying) .. i switched it back to false, and since havent had any problem (that im aware of) of my original problem. I don't know if it was cause, cure or coincidence.

Wish I could give you a definite "this is what happened" answer, but....

Im the 3rd person to have worked on this, and it appears there may be some anomalies in the database (country incorrect in the customer record == afghanististan, the first country in the list, showing up rather than the customers true country (U.S. ) --- I haven't had time yet to fully explore this yet (just found it today) ..

I dont know if that has anything to do with the original problem or not, but if i figure out a "for sure -- this is definitely the cause" answer, I will post back here.

Sorry, wish i could be of more help, I fully understand how frustrating this looking for a solution thang can be..

I think I found it...

His account is www.somedomain.com. His SSL is on https://somedomain.com

The fool that setup this clients shopping cart, told Verisign, that the return URL

was https://www.somedomain.com/.......

When if you try to go there, you get a cert warning, not a real page... I'm

sure verisign couldn't pull up the needed page, to return the answers that

oscommerce was waiting for.

So by removing the www. in the return URL, I think the problem has been solved.
