Checkout gives 404

 I published my store again and I set up a test product to purchase to make sure the checkout process is working. I'm glad I did. I set-up an account and then when I click checkout it asks me to sign in. I sign in.....and....BLAMO! "vdeck error, 404 not found, the requested resource could not be found". :( So, this newbie needs some help. I'm still hashing away at it and god knows I'd like to make some money but I could use some assistance on what to do with this issue. Thanks

without you helping us and giving more details about what the error is, a link to the error and the test account login and password, also what you have just finished installing contribution wise, not much we can do for you.

Thank you for responding. If you would be kind enough to visit www.dollard2.com, visit the store, create an account and login in you will goto the following link...

John, On your last request...contributions i have made....I have really not made any. I am extremely new to making a website (ie: Ipower/vdeck) and as for PHP, well I can't really even tell you what that stands for. I started programming on an apple2e and shortly thereafter, life got much easier. This is the first attempt I have made in years to understand the innerworkings of what goes on behing the web. I am surely grateful for all the assistance which is provided, I proudly post an entire page just for OScommerce on my site and would tell anyone looking for an ecommerce solution to start here. I have never quite been a part of (even if my contribution is merely "help me") something like this and have been amazed by the experience. As soon as SBC swallows up my beloved AT&T I may be looking to do my site full-time. If this becomes the case, I will surely be a regular participant and be able to provide worthy contributions. In the meantime. I am indebted to OScommerce for running such a wonderful-web-world.

I'm having the same problem too with ipowerweb.com. :(

I get the "404" error when I log into my account when I try to checkout or leave a review.

I don't get the error when I click on "My Account" and then I log on. But the problem with that is I still required to log in to leave a review or checkout.

I notice my username is not in the address when I get the 404 error. What get be causing it not to include my username in the address when I log in?

I haven't touch the configure.php file. Do you think I need to change something in the configure.php file?

I would appreciate the help.

  • 2 weeks later...
[What did they do to fix the error?

I contacted ipowerweb support and told them the problem and they fixed it. I'm not sure what they did to fix the 404 error. It must have been something on their side.

I'm having a new problem with the OsCommerce cart they have been working on for 2 weeks. The problem is that after I log into My Account and click on another link, it logs me off automatically. They told me so far is something to do with sessions. Another problem is ratings on a test product. The rating stars are not accurate on the product. This problem could only be on my cart.

I'm just going with another cart for now.
