Guest
Does anyone have any comments on using a Wiki-alike GUI editor, such as the one from Wacko or DokuWiki, to replace default TextAreas and even WYSIWYG editors like HTMLArea? If the development team would integrate WikiEdit 2.13, or something like it, then it would be very simple to manage MIME messages (with the HTML translation of the raw text, formatted with wiki-alike tags) and TEXT messages: The MIME messages are just the HTML translation resulting from parsing the GUI editor text that was inserted. The TEXT messages would be the raw text inserted inside the GUI editor. By keeping a restricted sub-set of HTML tags one would not worry that much about vulnerabilities in the text inserted, since it is all raw text with wiki-tags. And wiki-tags are less than HTML tags and simple to learn, not to mention that most editors come with a way to insert tables that doesn't cause much hassle.
