Backup problems

Everytime I try and back up my database it tells me that it has lost the conection to the sql server.

 

I have tried for a few days now and this has just started happening when the database went over 18MB

 

any help would be gratefully recieved

There is a "timeout" set on the server. If your database backup process takes too long, the connection will be broken. You'll probably need to talk to your webhost to work out a solution. Have you tried using phpMyAdmin to do your backups? That might produce better results.
