dragon75 Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 I'm getting ssl shared cert. from our webhosting company and the Sys Admin of our webshosting company need information about the name of the directory within the web to point the secure page to. What should I tell him??? Anyone can help??? PLEASE......
merlin1 Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 As far as I know ( and I'm open to correction!) your provider shouldn't require such information. The purpose of SSL, as I understand it, is to encrypt information from any page - as long as it is called via https:// Having ssaid that I tried setting up using shared SSL - it was more trouble than it was worth - and ended up buying a "proper" SSL cert. It worked first time, & it has the advantage of looking more professional. Hope some of that helps M
