I am trying to install the OS Commerce. I got the help link on how to install it. Can it be installed on my local machine before uploading it to a web server? I have tried a couple ways to upload it. I talked to a friend of mine. He said that he didn't know of a way to set up the store and get it done and then uploading it. It that true? I wont have the web space for a few weeks. I want to go ahead and start work on my site on my computer now and then upload it when I get the web space.

you could do a few things, you can install locally, edit, then just upload those edited files on a fresh install on the webserver. for example .css files, index.php, backup of your database etc.

If you want to run osc on your local machine you should install easy php.

Easy PHP install instructions

When you get ready to upload the site to the server the only files you will need to change are your two configure.php files.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?
