Guest Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 spiders.txt is a file OSC uses to lookup known spider and prevent them from setting a session ID in your shop. (Assuming you have "prevent spider sessions set to 'true' in your OSC admin -- which you should. You don't want a session ID turning up in your search engine listings.) The default spiders.txt file is pretty old and some spiders ignore it anyway. If you search "spiders" and "sessions" in the forum here you can get more info on how it's supposed to work and how it came about. :: S
