I am creating a real estate site and I would like to create a similar "Search our datatbase" option like these guys are using.

 

http://www.realestatephuket.com/

 

Someone else suggested I use OSCommerce to acheive this, but how?

As useful as I find osC if you are building a realestate site you might want to look at Open Realty

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

Thanks ozcsys, but....... I hate to sound ungratefull.

All the sample sites, using OR, I found in the forum don't look very professional at all.

I seen this in the contributions section here, I forget what it was called.... I would search it inside out as I know its in there.
