oxlxo Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 Can anyone explain why I am getting the message below when the file in question has been set to 444 [Read\Read\Read] via CHMOD? If read isn't the right user permission, what is? Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/devss/public_html/cart/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. Thanks. Steve
siwebdesigns Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 Whats up Steve... I had the same issue, alls you have to do is goto your FILE MANAGER to whatever your host provider is (not ftp program but file manager in control panel) once there search to the destination they tell you there is a problem with.... /home/devss/public_html/cart/includes/configure.php. once you get to configure.php click it and change its PERMISSIONS. Hope this works for ya. Ryan
oxlxo Posted August 9, 2004 Author Posted August 9, 2004 :D Nice one Ryan, that works a treat. No more errors. I originally changed the permissions via my FTP client, so I am a bit baffled as to why I had to go through my control panel to make this work. I thought my FTP client allowed permission changes. Anyway thanks mate, and take care. Steve
