how can I control upcoming items?

Hi,

I'd like to control all upcoming items..

 

Once I add an upcoming item in the admin page, I put about 100 in the Qunitity box. And when I add the item, it doesn't even say anything about it.

 

Some customers accidently place an order such an item. In order to prevent that heppening, I'd like to block all customers so that they can't add it to cart or checkout.. Is there way I can do that?

 

For out of stock items, there is a speical message such as "Products marked with *** may not exist in desired quantity in our stock."

 

I'll appreciate for any help.

you can just edit it and put it out of stock. By default it will let customers add it to the cart, and even buy it, with the red text saying it won't be available until the date you set.
