mladen Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 Hello I am new to os commerce and am having a little bit of a problem. I am running windows 2003 server edition and trying to load my site onto cp.aplus.net. The site asks me for a Name Server or NS1 and NS2. It asks this under domain registration. Where can I find this, is it the name of my pc and if it is where can I find it on my pc. Also what else would I need to do to get my website up and running I have a router and have opened up port 80 like I was previously informed to. My store is almost finished I just don't know how to do the rest. Any tips would be great. Thank you for any one who reads and responds to this posting. Any recommendations can also be emailed to [email protected] if prefered. Thanks
1quicksi Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 DNS is the the proces of resolving an IP address from a physcal name. You will need to have a host to do this with. If you are self hosting and do not have a static IP you will need to find a DDNS service like TZO.com Otherweise your ISP should be able to help you. You could configure your server to do DNS but seeing your new to this I would suggest reading up on this a bit before you attempt it. knowledge base | Contributions | Search
