New site need your feedback

after numbers of failling, it's finally seeing some light.

i tried to add minimal contributions because more i add more risk i get errors, btw this is my first OSC project

 

the store is live now and will start advertise in 2 weeks, please browse and see what i've missed and/or i should improve it. any and all critics are welcome

I also have to say, I very much like what you have done here. It looks great!

 

a few comments / suggestions.

 

1. Loading time was pretty slow for me. I have a VERY fast internet connection. I suspect it is becuase you are heavy on the graphics, and more so it might have something to do with your server. I am having the same problem with my store right now.

 

2. I would like to see your whats new on the right side under the shopping cart and also the bestsellers under categories where what's new was.

 

3. I would like the text to be a little bolder. I don't think it would look right bold... but it is just a little 'faded' with all that is going on in the store. Not sure there is really anything you can do about this, but I thought I would mention it.

 

4. Normally I would say... change the ' Let's see What We Have Here ' text... but thinking of my little 4 month old golden retriever it really does fit your store. That little nose of his looking to see whats everywhere.

 

5. In your product listings. Say for example: TOP>>CATALOG>>PAPAWZY BED & HOUSE

I think you would be better off to list your products the same way that new products are listed. Pictures 3 across with text, price, and buy button on the bottom.

 

It seems to me that people look at pictures a lot more than they read.

 

6. I get an untrusted cert warning (perhaps its just not done yet).. but this is a BIG turn off for customers.

 

7. You look a little funny on some of your pages at 800x600. I know this is a nightmare I have the same problem. An example would be your sizechart.php page. The picture in the center pushes everything out to the right. Your sign in page looks a little scrunched at 800x600 too.

 

BTW, great job on the extender in the graphic on the top..

 

Overall, I say BRAVO! Definatley one of my favorites to date. Based on appearance alone I would recomend people to this shop.

I do have to agree the load time was slow(DSL even). I also would suggest cutting down on your image file size. Other than that I got a kick out of your site.

thanks for the feedback guys, i'm going to reduce the size of images to see if can load faster, as for editing the php files i use dreamweaver

 

i will update the site and post it here once i finish

A very nice themed site, worth the wait and load time to see a nice site, well done.

 

Regarding the images for example infobox headers try reducing their size a little and making the background transparent as you have a lot of these this may help.

I love the header graphic, its great, who ever did it is awsome. What are the two blue birds doing? Is one hitting the other with it's wing? Or is the other smelling it's armpit? :)

 

I think the best sellers needs to be changed, either it's too hidden at the bottom of the column or it needs pictures of the items.

 

I got a security alert when I hit checkout on the cart.

 

The create_account page throws off the alignments of the page and makes it look a little funky.
