No Product ID field?

Hi,

When I look in the admin of osCommerce, more specifically where you add products, I don't see a field for produc ID's anywhere. It does still ask me to radio button whether it's in stock or not, to fill in VAT stuff and weight - all of which I don' use, but no product numbers at all.

I bet it's something very simple I'm overlooking, but does anybody know how I can add that field to the add product in admin?

(I have looked in the documentation, but so far I've had no luck in finding anything)

Thanks.

You could use the Products Model#

That's a good idea. See, told you it must've been something simple. :D

I do have another problem though. I just tried to add a test product. Filled out the fields I need - as there are a number of fields I don't use - and the buttons at the bottom are only 'preview' and 'cancel'. So I press 'preview'. It will then obviously show me the preview and three buttons appear: 'back', 'insert' and 'cancel'. I choose 'insert' to save the newly created product.

However, the product list in admin remains empty. No product is shown. If I look at the site after this the catagory box says it has 1 product, but there as well the product list is empty.

I have to admit that for this one I honestly wouldn't even know where to start looking. Any idea what that might be?

Thanks!

This is actually starting to become rather a big problem. The product I'd added is now also shown in a 'What's New' box in the left column, but when you click on it obviously it says 'Product doesn't excist'. Not surprising as the product wasn't listed anywhere after adding it. It just vanished. Apart from the what's new box that is.

Anyone? Please?

Hi RojanUK,

See if this will help, I guss you may have done!

when you input a new product, try to put in all the fields instead of only the fields you need. In particular, the date available, in stock etc.

Good luck.

This was an old problem that was solved. I have to admit that I can't remember how I solved it anymore, but it was solved. I don't have to fill out fields that I don't want to fill out, luckily, because there are fields there that I don't use in my setup. But it's working now anyway. Seems I forgot to post that in this thread. Usually I do post whether it's solved and most of the time the solution as well, if it's not based on a hint anyway. Oh well....

Thanks anyway LJ ;)
