dreammediauk Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Hi, I'm having problems viewing the source of my product pages in Internet Explorer, and I'm concerned that there may be a problem with the browser reading the page. If this is the case, I'm also concerned that spiders may also have the same problems, and not index the site as they should. The site is Drool Online - I'd be grateful for any suggestions... I've checked this in Opera and Mozilla - no problem at all. Is IE just being up to its usual Microsoft standard, or have I done something stupid? Thanks.

radders Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 I can very rarely get IE 6 to view source. Sometimes though you can use edit as an alternative
user99999999 Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Its because the pages are not cached so IE doesnt want to view it. If you hit refresh and view the source real fast then you can get it.
dreammediauk Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 Brilliant, I've managed to do so in the way you've suggested. Thank you all for your help. John.
billwerth Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 The simple answer is there is some kind of bug, likely caused by SP1 for IE, that prevents the source from being viewed if the cache size is too large. If you set the cache size to 50M, then exit the browser and restart it, it will allow you to view the source. Or you can try any of the following tips on this page: IE Tips
