blueedge Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 When viewing an invoice from admin (catalog/admin/orders.php), you can update the status of the order. One of the options is "Delivered." I would like to change that option to "Shipped." (I changed this before but have since over-written the file. Unfortunately, I can't remember where to change the wording. I have been looking all over the admin directory.) Thanks.
Guest Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 You can add via the Admin but I don't recall the option to edit. (I could be wrong about that). Anyway, you can edit all order statuses via the order_status table in phpMyAdmin.
Guest Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 It's in Admin under Localization then under Orders Status. We changed ours to 'New Order' (default), 'Processing' and 'Desptached'.
blueedge Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 Draven, thanks. That's not where I changed it before but that certainly worked. grendel214, I turned over very stone except Localization in my hunt. I believe that's where I made the change last time. You mentioned that you use "New Order," "Processing" and "Despatched." "New Order" is used automatically when a order is initiated. "Despatched" is used when you have shipped the order. When do you use "Processing"? Do you manually change the order to "Processing"?
Guest Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 We mostly just use 'New Order' which is the stauts when the order is placed and 'Despatched'. 'Processing' we use if it's a larger order that takes longer to pick, if we are waiting for an item from distributor or a wheelbuild (we are a bike shop). It took me quite a while find how to change it, Localization seems a strange place for it to be!
Guest Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 Kind of funny how everyone keeps the 'Despatched' status with that spelling, simply b/c it's there --- at least for US users. It is an extremely rarely used spelling of the word (again, at least in the US). :) Not that it's in any way related but I noticed a contribution which added an HTTP Referrer field to user tracking and the author spelled 'referrer' as 'referer', following the legendary misspelling of $HTTP_REFERER. ;)
