Paul_F Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Hello, I was recommended by fatcow.com to check out this shopping cart software as an alternative to what we are using now. My main question is about flexibility: Can I take osCommerce and implement it in to a site like this htpp://www.seefred.com, or do would I have to redesign the entire site? Right now it uses Hassan's shopping cart and I just design the site and put in form tags for the cart. From what I've seen, most of the new carts out there these days force you into a specific template tying the hands of the designer to do different things on particular pages. Any help would be great, we are about to open a new store and I'm looking for a more efficient way of designing it. Thank!!! -paul
juniorprg Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Hey Paul, OSC is flexible to an extend, it all depends how much time you have in hand, i would say a starter to learn would take about a month, just to get a hang of it, and you can always consult this forum for any help, and there are documentations too. Its flexible, from designers point of view it will be bit teadious ..but give a shot, the functionality OSC gives you is just amazing...a web developer would take somwhere between 3-4 months to develop a complete package which OSC have formulated, so definitley worth your time... l8ter
Paul_F Posted August 4, 2004 Author Posted August 4, 2004 Thanks...I spoke to someone a few minutes ago and he pretty much said the same thing. That it'd take some time to learn, but that I can do what I need to do it's just a matter of figuring it out. Thanks! -paul
