sculptex Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 I am wondering if anyone is writing or has written an affiliate scheme for oscommerce. I dont mean a banner rotation script or similar, I mean an integrated affiliate system where people link to ME and I gather the referrer from the url parameter or similar. When that customer then registers, I can configure how much commission from their orders to award to that referrer. As well as normal web store link referrals, I want this scheme to be available to regular customers too, so that if they recommend a friend, they will have their own affiliate id (say their email) used as the affiliate link sent to their friend, and they will be entitled to a discount off their next order or similar. My idea is to interface this with a voucher system, so that each customer can maybe redeem their affiliate credits for vouchers to that value to be used against their next order. For proper web site referrers however, it is likely that when their commission reaches a certain level, that they can redeem it for cash or similar. (This would need an manual authorisation phase, as I would never trust this to a fully automated system). I think that the customer table can be used to for affiliates too, as long as I add some fields to flag if they are a customer type affiliate or a website type affiliate so that when they go into their control panel, an appropriate affiliate screen will also appear. ps. I am currently using cubecart and am having to write loads of mods myself, so if anyone has written or is writing such a mod, it may sway me to convert to oscommerce.

sculptex Posted August 4, 2004 Author Posted August 4, 2004 Thanks for the reply, I had looked before but found it this time (OSC-affiliate). I cannot find any documentation for it (the features list is not active on their site), but it looks so comprehensive I am sure it will cover most of my requirements. Thanks again
