Real Newbie here with pre basic questions

I recently became the IT Director of a very small company. I use the term IT Director very loosely.

 

I am really a sales blooded individual with a real side of tech geekiness mixed in.

 

I have thrown up websites with a PHP CMS and a PHP BB system.

 

Is osCommerce for me? I am not a programmer but am fairly technical and can figure out most things. Can't program but I can troubleshoot.

 

I want to use this for our shoppingcart side of what we do. I think it will do all we need it to do as I have perused the bedoobies out of this site.

 

Any words of caution?

I just noticed that my host www.sitelutions.com has an installer for osCommerce...man...this rocks.

Before you use the installer provided by your host, make sure it's using a current version. 2.2MS2 is the latest stable release. Many of those install scripts are using older or unstable versions of osCommerce and that will cause you problems.
