Hello everyone,

I am completely new to oscommerce.

It seems very powerful although not for me at the present time.

I am working with a product database. I already populated this database with about 1000 products and would like to export it to osc. I have installed the program locally on my computer. Using the web installation I set up my server and database connection, everything works.

Now it is installed, I don't know where to start or to go. How do I get my table from my database into osc. Is it possible to transfer certain field from my table to asc? If yes, how, if no how am I supposed to put the products into osc.

I look forward to your comments.

Thanks in advance

You might want to look at "Easy Populate". I haven't used it myself, but have noticed that several of the folks here have used it successfully to import their products database to osCommerce from another source.

Yes I heard about easypopulate

Do you think the database especially regarding products and products_descriptions can be overwrited with my existing database, or do I have to start it all over again.

At the moment I am using the database for a product search engine and my current database has got different field names. Is it possible to amend it or easier to populate field one at a time.

Will I be able to do that with easypopulate?

Thanks for your reply!
