A customer just complained that he's getting this message:

"There has been an error processing your credit card, please try again : expected entity name for reference (line 3, column 14)

I've had three other successful Linkpoint transactions today, so it doesn't look like a showstopper (yet). But I haven't seen this "expected entity name for reference" before in these forums, and am curious... All I can make out is that it's some kind of XML parser error. Any ideas?

Hmmmmm.

I'm noticing something odd from Linkpoint as well.

I have two stores (one MS-1, one MS-2), and since the beginning of the month, they're both taking orders. However, the MS-2 shop, which is using the latest Linkpoint mod, seems to be having some issues.

Among them, Linkpoint showing every order as "Ytest," and one or two (at least :( ) people getting similar errors.

Think it's on their end?

The MS-1 Linkpoint store is fine...

I haven't seen "Ytest", but I also haven't had a successful credit card order since yesterday. I've searched their API error messages and sent an inquiry to [email protected] even an automated response.

Also using MS2.

To clarify, all the "Ytest" orders--that's if you go to Linkpoint itself, and look up orders.

Only the stuff from my MS-1 store is showing up normally there (with that little number code thingie).

One other odd detail, my MS-2 store primarily sells ebooks at $1 a pop, so the average tickets might be a lot smaller... and thus getting through where bigger orders wouldn't (average ticket has declined considerably on that site since Aug. 1).

But enough about me  , I do think it's their end, and they've been pretty good fixing stuff.

Hi D:

I believe we've got different issues, though I think you're right--something funny at their end. Also, the [email protected] address appears to be a loser--I've put in a ticket through the API Support Form at linkpointcentral.com. But even there, they promise:

You will receive a confirmation within 24 hours to let you know we've received your email. :(

Same here. We've been having problems with Linkpoint Select API for more than a week now. I tried contacting Linkpoint but they seem to be very busy counting our subscription money that they forget opening their mail lately.

No response until now and our clientles can't afford to wait any longer.

Darn Linkpoint!

Hello. I've just gotten an account with Linkpoint and am looking over the all the os Commerce software wondering where to begin.

My main concern: I'm with Globat and they install the software for you. But it does'nt look as though the paths they've created match the paths I see used by other people in the forums or any of the faqs I've read. Globat's tech support is terrible; par for the course just about anywhere I guess. But when they decide to configure all these things theirselves they should be able to provide more support because of the differences they introduce.

Anyway, I think mainly what they've done is most people start from /catalog/...

But Globat asks your for a name to call your store and they replace catalog with that.

If I'm right about this then this will solve what is right now my most difficult problem sorting all of this stuff out.

Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks.

Just so everyone knows, on the Linkpoint gateway, a transaction result of 'YTEST' means you sent the varible 'result' with the contents of 'GOOD' - spelled just like that. It actually turns on a TEST mode that you can use to put through any CC number, and it'll return that YTEST result. To fix it, either take out the 'result' variable completely, or replace the GOOD with a 'LIVE', and it'll put through your transactions normally.

On a side note, if you set 'result' to 'DECLINED'- it'll decline every transaction you put through.
