Guest Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 The products I sell need to be sorted in a very specific way. The default option (product name) doesn't give the results I want, and the other options (manufacturer, model, price, etc.) aren't acceptable either. (If you're curious why this is, visit http://www.cobracards.com/test and click "Fellowship of the Ring" on the left. The items SHOULD be listed in this order: 1R1, 1C2, 1C3. If I seem too picky, consider that there will eventually be a couple hundred items in each category.) I'm thinking that I can order my items the way I want by using a field like "date added" (which won't appear on my site) to assign each item a number, and then using these numbers to sort the product list. But I would have no idea how to actually do this. :) Help is appreciated!
Guest Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 Hrm, no responses. I think I worded my problem poorly; here's a better example. Say I give every product in my store a different weight, from 1-500 or whatever, just as an identifier. I need to have the product list be sorted by weight, even though the weights won't be shown. And I would need to disable the other forms of sorting. Help! :)
