my oscommerce shop is acting up!

hello, i changed my login.php to the index.php, to override the previous home page, because there was not a reason. and i had them backed up. so everything works the way i want it too. but now once i login, it s acts up. for example if i click on a catergory on the left to go to the page where it lists the products. it goes to the login page!!! why? can someone sign up and go through the page to see what is wrong? THANK YOU

did it work at one stage and has now stopped working ? or has it not worked at all ?

it had worked! i haven't put it LIVE yet tho.
