Paypal receipt without an order

I just got a receipt for payment from Paypal, but no order was placed. No order in the database and no confirmation email. Has anyone seen this before or know what might have happen?

The real question... at what point in the ordering process does osCommerce place the actual order? I thought as soon as you confirm payment it placed the order, but it seems like the system must be waiting on something to be returned from the payment service (Paypal or Authorize.net in my case).

Thanks for the help,

RT

When you have this problem with paypal orders it is caused by the customer not clicking on continue after paying for their order. This is solved by using the paypal_shopping_cart_ipn contribution. I believe it is #1753

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

I have the same problem and I seached in the forums and I don?t get any advice that solves this problem

Actually this has been covered lots of times I have answered the question more than a few times myself. I just did a search for "paypal" and found three threads in general support on the first page that covered the subject.

I found the threads that answered the questions, but only after using Google to search instead of the forum search... sorry for the reposting.
