Mercutio Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Hi all, My first post to this forum - I have a bit of a question. I'm checking out OSCommerce for use at my workspace, and I gotta say this project rocks. I'm already planning to set up a store for one of my personal projects. However, I'm trying to figure out if I can also use for my employer's rather specialized needs. I work at a high-end winery. Essentially, because the demand for our wines is so high and we deliberately keep our production low to ensure quality, we have to limit how much of each product we sell to each customer, based on a rank that reflects their past sales, like so: Rank 1: 12 bottles of variety x, 6 bottles of variety y, 3 bottles of variety z Rank 2: 6 bottles of variety x, 3 bottles of variety y, 0 bottles of variety z etc... My questions is whether OSCommerce can be configured to do this. I figure adding the customer ranks would be a relatively simple addition to the MySQL database, but I don't know the php necessary to link that to a limited inventory amount. Does anyone know of any contributions/mods that would help to accomplish this, or coding that I could add/modify to make this possible? Many thanks in advance! -Mercutio
