hey im a newbie and i was just wondering how I would go about making the "Welcome, Please Sign In", page the default. right now it goes to "Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in? Or would you prefer to create an account?" there really isnt a point to go there.

 

any ideas?

i just want the DEFAULT page be the login page. you know username/password. blah blah. right now it is the 2nd page.

backup your index.php

then delete it

make a copy of login.php and name it index.php then upload it

tel me if tat works

it works for now... wait till you try to use other functions in your shop..

index.php proly has somn important in it

maybe just change the html part?

or maybe!

instead of where it says welcome "would liek to sign in or create account"

insert the code for the login box and the box to the left of it

im pretty sure that should work...

why do you to force user to create an account or login before they can even see your products ? dont you think this may drive your customers away fromthe site ?

 

just a thought....

Make a index.shtml page and upload in your root directory.

and use this code:

<!--#include file="store/login.php"-->

should work without deleting any files .

it happened. i did this:

and it worked. but it doesnt work anymore!!! anyone know what i can do to go back to normal? :(

I truely feel for you. Do you have a copy of your index.php page (the one you had before you renamed it to login?

 

Before you work on any particular file make a copy of it and name it for example:

 

indexORG.php or index.080204

 

I prefer making a backup copy with the date.

 

This way if something doesn't work out for you, you have the original.
