need help on setting up admin password

Hi guys

I need some help on setting up the password for the admin folder.

I am leaving it inside the catalog and i wanted to know how do i password protect it so that no one will access it. I movie it out of the catalog folder and put it in another place and i just got an error back, which file do i need to configure to make the admin work outside the folder and were do i define it so that the password will work. I will appreciate your help to anyone who is willing to help
