Guest Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 hey everyone i am new to creating sites. i stumbled across oscommerce and was informed that i was a great tool for online business. now i'm in the process or trying to create my actual site. what i need to do is list my products, but i need to be able to list my products in a different way than it lets me do from default. the way i need to list them is as follows.... greddy sp2 exhaust 95-99 civic ex $739 96-01 civic si $969 93-94 eclipse gst $869 ect ect ect i cant' seem to be able to list them in that fashion. the only other way requires that when someone where to click on greddy for a product litsing they would get 20+ listings for the same style exhaust, just for a different car. is there anyway to get it to work in this fashion? thanks for any help. david
rcmdesign Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Automotive stores with oscommerce are VERY difficult as I am undergoing this right now. I came across the same problem and the solution I came up with was to have separate products for each type of car...And to differentiate each product, I added the make model and years to the title of the product for easy searching etc...Hope that helps...
Guest Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 It's not difficult at all if you plan it properly.... I currently have 4,000 ++ products in my car & truck accessories store..... just plan the work then work the plan! B)
