Guest Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 why would you want to use IIS on XP? a bit tougher to setup. Better off using Apache. in any case, what happens when you go to http://localhost what is displayed? also, do not put in http://localhost for the location of the server, use just localhost

Guest Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 you need to install mysql, then use mysql connector or phpmyadmin or the mysql prompt to setup a database. mysql connector is located at the mysql com web site, and also there you can type in the word 'create database' for the search and you will find the proper syntax if you want to do it via the prompt. phpmyadmin has a tutorial also.
John Doswell Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 i use for local installations http://localfoo.info/modules/mydownloads/ LOCALFOO-WAMP-INSTALLER (**) Apache 2.0.50 (**) PHP 4.3.8 (+PEAR) (**) mod_perl 1.99_13 / PERL 5.8 (**) mod_python 3.1.3 / PYTHON 2.3.4 (**) mod_ssl 2.0.50 (**) mod_gzip 2.0.26a (**) mod_fastcgi (**) mod_security 1.8.2 (**) mod_dav2 (**) MySQL Datenbank 4.0.20d (Server/Clients) (**) ZendOptimizer 2.5.3 (**) FileZilla 0.91b inkl.
